Driver Installation in Windows 10
Driver installation for the Canon imageRUNNER 2202N is standardized using the “generic driver”. This driver is designed to work with different devices using similar algorithms. Older and “budget” printers often refer to it in the download section. The model itself, as an additional option, has the ability to configure printing over the network. The installation process is as follows:
The greeting itself suggests clicking “Next” to proceed to the next steps. Since there are no other interesting options in this window (the Readme file is a collection of technical information and a license agreement), there is nothing more to do.
The license agreement is accepted automatically. It is still violated in the CIS countries literally in the first week of using the MFP (it is enough to refill the cartridge for this agreement to be terminated).
The item “Yes” is selected. This means that the user assumes further responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the device.
Indicates the type of connection between the printer and the computer. Despite the network accessory of the MFP on the first device, it must be installed by “Usb”.
The last step of interest is variability. You can connect the printer with a cable and continue with the installation. Or, click “Skip” and continue with the installation anyway. The only difference is what is required after installation.
If the MFP was connected, then no additional steps are needed. If the “Skip” item was selected, you will need to restart the computer and then connect the peripheral device.
